Pricing to sell and a lesson learned

Last week I said goodbye to my beautiful boat that I had owned for 13 years. The boat has received meticulous care since day one and showed almost as new. My decision to sell was prompted by a need to free up the garage for projects. Much like the clients homes I sell there were some serious emotions involved here. I knew the condition of the boat and the care it received, much like a homeowner selling their home. The bottom line was just like I do for homes I researched the market to arrive at a price. Though the boat hadn't seen water since 2006 didn't matter it was still a 13 year old boat. I priced it according to the comps I found online and it sold 3 days after listing it at full price. The buyers bought it for all practical purposes sight unseen, driving over 8 hours from Thunder Bay Ontario. I had over 20 offers for the boat.

No matter how special a home may be or how carefully you have maintained it the market will determine the price. If you truly want to sell your home trust your Realtors guidance on price.
